Imagemagick enable?

Are there any alternative to the two plugins below, to enable ImageMagick for jpg compression? (not interested in alternatives to ImageMagick)
Think i read that wordpress would use it by default, if it was enabled on the server – if so, how do i change the settings from wordpress without any of the two plugins?

Please install the health check plugin. It will tell you which image libraries are installed on the debug tab: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
for example, See https://i.imgur.com/aJL5Vxd.png
If it’s not there, ask your host.
The plugins should be “talking to” imagemagick.
