@imagecreatefromstring() ignores mute errors and breaks page

    PHP Parse Error: imagecreatefromstring(): gd-png error: setjmp returns error condition 2 in /www/wp-content/plugins/wonderm00ns-simple-facebook-open-graph-tags/wonderm00n-open-graph.php on line 687

    This is the error I get when the image it tries to process is broken in any way. I know the “@” should mute the error, but in combination with other plugins that may play with error reporting settings, it is ignored.
    Do you think there’s another way you could handle this edge case?
