• Hello!

I imported an archive of WordPress posts into a new WordPress install for a client…after importing, we noticed that several posts featured broken images.

When I looked deeper, it seems the broken images are caused by a change in the image upload file names from “example.jpg” to “example.jpeg”. Does anyone know WHY this change to the file extension would occur? And if there is a fix other than to manually change posts or file names?

The archive I imported has about three years of posts so it will be a bit of a headache to comb through hundreds of posts, looking for broken images, and then amending the file URLs. If anyone has experienced this before and found a method of fixing it, please let me know!
