• I had a problem uploading images in an old wordpress installation (2.6.2). When using deans FCKeditor plugin it would bark out an “Invalid File” and nothing would upload.

I just successfully upgraded to 2.8.4 but I am still getting the error when using the FCKeditor.

However, when I try to use the Media Insert/Upload toolbar (using the flash uploader) the screen shows 100% upload and disappears leaving a placeholder where the image would go, but there is not way to select it, just and empty outlined box.

I have a 2.8 implementation on this same exact server and it works just fine. What am I doing wrong with this install??

    Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Well, I found out I can upload an image fine through the Media>Add New. But I can’t do it when I’m in the add new/edit post. So that makes me even more confused. I’ll keep digging.

    Thanks.

I forgot to check Firebug. And when I try to upload an image inline with the post it gives a 500 server error and points to this file:

    POST http://www.[mydomain].com/blog/wp-admin/async-upload.php

But again, when I use the left menu Media>Add New, it works fine.
