    Hi there,

I am not sure what is going on, but randomly my image uploads has stopped working when trying to upload an image for inclusion within a post.

I have googled my problem but cant seem to resolve it, so was wondering if anyone could offer any advice.

The following happens when trying to upload an image,

I browse for a file, I hit the upload button, and the file appears to be uploading.

Then it displays the normal, send to editor jobby but it only has the filename next to it, no image has been uploaded.

When i tried to edit the image to see what was going on, I noticed that it had a image url path as follows:

Now this just does not look right!

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Hi,
Maybe the problem is the image you want to upload is higher than the server’s acceptable upload file size via browser?

Not sure what happened, but somehow the uploads directory in the wordpress admin had been altered. I certainly did not do it so bit confused! All working now though!

I just had a similar experience. The default folder was changed to the dots and dashes above. I was able to restore the setting within the admin panel in Options > Miscellaneous – Uploading. How did it get changed? I am using an older version of WP. Could a strange comment that could not be deleted by Askimet have been the culprit? It was post dated and had no other data. It was preceded by another with an other comment with a name and email address but no comment. I had to manually delete the post dated comment.
