Image upload doesn’t seem to be working for me

Hi,

I am using a Photo ID field in registration. Earlier I was using File Upload, later realized “Image” field was needed there, so I changed to Image.

But with file upload the docx and pdf files were uploaded to respective directory and folders were created with userIDs, but with image field neither it shows any error, nor it registers. I checked the uploads folder also, nothing is created there either. Am I missing any settings ?

Nothing related to Image field in debugging but few other warnings are there.

Hi Dipak,
I am sorry i could not see the topic earlier.

1. Can you please create a new file upload field instead of changing the field type and check if it is working or not.

Also, Please let me know if you are using any filter to limit file types/size(from our previous discussion, it seems so). That might be a reason too.

Hi Brajesh,

Here are the things that I tried after you replied.

Deleted both the previous fields (1. file 2. Image) and created one by one to test. And these are the scenario and results.

1. Without any upload fields (file/image) registration successful.
2. With a FILE field ONLY (no image field on form) registration successfull
3. With a IMAGE field ONLY (no file field on form) 404 PAGE
4. Both Image and File file on Form 404 Page

https://prnt.sc/q33wrh -> Image field added
https://prnt.sc/q341fw -> A sample image chosen
https://prnt.sc/q341nn -> 404 page, browser asking to save password, no user created in backend, validation will say email already exist if you try the same email again for registration

Please let me know how can we debug it. Thanks

Hi Dipak,
I am sorry but I am unable to replicate it.

Here is what I did.

1. I created a new image field
2. Registered a user and uploaded an image on signup
3. activated the account and the field is present showing the image

Logged in as a subscriber and then uploaded an image from profile page(front end) and it is working again.

Please make sure you are on the latest version(I assume that you already are).
Which version of BuddyPress/WordPress are you using? Is it multisite?

Hi Brajesh,

Yes, everything running with latest versions. And we are using WPLMS above bbPress. Could it be a problem of incompatibility with other extensions used for WPLMS ?

I’ll do some test by deactivating other plugins and let you know.
