Image thumbnails aren't being generated

    I have realised that at some point in the recent past, image thumbnails have stopped being generated when I upload them. Thumbnails show in the Media Library but not on published pages. The Regenerate Thumbnails plug-in doesn’t work when I run it either (even though it says it was successful) – I suspect the first problem is causing the second.

    I have already checked that PHP has the GD module installed and it does. The Uploads folder has permissions set to 755. I’ve also disabled Regenerate Thumbnails and all the elements of Jetpack I have installed which are related to images. No other plugins directly affect or interact with images. When I test upload images, there are still no thumbnails being generated.

    I’ve also noticed that when I click to edit images from the Media Library the page looks like this which means I can’t seem to edit images either.

    I’ve exhausted Google looking for solutions so if anyone could shed any light I’d be very grateful!

    I am also having trouble with different sizes of thumbnails even if I set the size to a specific size in Woocommerce setting.
    The problem appears on the Product Category thumbnails on the shop page. Thanks for any leads to resolving the problem.
