First, let me say that I am a GIANT fan of wpFORO. I am in the process of implementing it for our camera club.
Since we are a campera club, I expect there to be lots of images attached to topics and responses.
From my investigation, all the images are saved in:
    wp-content/uploads/wpforo/defaultattachments

There is an option to ‘manage’ the images in the media library. This option DOES NOT change where the images are stored. Do sites realize any benefit from this?

From my previous experience on unix systems (granted a number of years ago), once a file directory accumulates a large number of images certain commands (ls *.jpg) are drastically slowed down. Accessing a specific file by file name was not as seriously impacted.

Question: Is there any option to organize the images in folders based on either dates (as the media library does) or by the associated forum?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

    Hi @redrockbob,
    You have two options.

    1. You can enable the “Insert Forum Attachments to Media Library” option in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features Tab. It’ll store all new attachments in the WordPress media Uploader

    2. Or by the wpForo Advanced Attachments addon. This is a pro solution for file attachments in wpForo forum posts. This addon creates a user specific media library with separate folders. You can find more info in the Description and Screenshot tabs of the addon page: https://gvectors.com/product/wpforo-advanced-attachments/
