Support » Plugin: Image Regenerate & Select Crop » Image size shares the same file as the full size

For some reason, the thumbnail size was set to 0x0. I only realised this after regenerating that size.

I then changed the setting to 100×100, but all the images now show this message for the thumbnail size:

This image size shares the same file as the full size (the original image) and it cannot be altered.

And in the list of files, it shows the original file with full, thumbnail for the sizes.

How do I regenerate only the thumbnail size without breaking anything?

    Hi Gal,

That is really unfortunate. In order to remove the wrong metadata from the database, you have to first delete the “wrong” generated data. This is not included in the current version but will implement in the new version. This is still a work in progress at this point.

Can I do it with SQL?

Not just SQL, as the metadata is a serialized object. You would need to either unset the thumbnail from the image metadata or replace it with an empty string, then re-run the bulk regenerate for that size.

What will happen if I disable the thumbnail size and then run the cleanup for it?

I’ve forced regeneration of all the thumbnail size and it’s replacing the meta associations. Phew!
