# Image Rotator Help Please

 * Hi there,
 * I’m trying to set up the script at [http://www.alistapart.com/articles/betterrotator/](http://www.alistapart.com/articles/betterrotator/)
   onto [http://www.rapnews.co.uk](http://www.rapnews.co.uk) so that there’s a small
   advert image rotating beneath the last text on my sidebar.
 * I’ve managed to follow the instructions including editing the image.ini and uploading
   this with the rotator.php file.
 * However, I’m having trouble editing the index.php.
 * I’m not even sure if this is the file that I should be editing as I want the 
   sidebar altered.
 * The index.php of my default template can be found at

 * and my .css is at [http://www.rapnews.co.uk/wp-content/themes/default/style.css](http://www.rapnews.co.uk/wp-content/themes/default/style.css)
 * When I download these onto my desktop and try opening them with notepad, for 
   some reason all of the text is in one long line, making things EVEN harder to
   cope with.
 * I’d be very grateful if somebody could assist me in doing the index.php (or whateva
   the sidebar editing file is) update.

 * If you want to alter the sidebar – open the `sidebar.php`. It’s that simple.
   (
   There must be something wrong with your box or your notepad – I remember from
   another thread screwing up your files in one long line…)

 * If the files are downloaded from a Unix/Linux server, there’s a good chance the
   lines will have Unix style line ends, which Notepad doesn’t understand.
 * Better text editors (I use TextPad, there are many more) can edit these files
   without a problem. Notepad is a very basic tool – I try to avoid it…
