@trevormwilson – Would you mind, confirming for us that error persists after:

    – disable all browser extensions/plugins/or add-ons
    – Temporarily switching to WordPress default theme > clear browser cache & reload your site
    – Deactivate all plugins (including NextGEN Gallery) > clear browser cache > re-activate NextGEN Gallery only & reload your site

Do any of those action steps help? I know this can be a big inconvenience, we’re very sorry – but since this is not happening for everyone, this does help tell us if there is a plugin/theme conflict. Or a browser related issue.

experiencing an similar issue and seeing double overlays…

    Thank you for your time.

solution to double overlay is to go to OPTIONS on NEXTGEN and go to EFFECTS and choose NONE …one overlay only, however it doesn’t work at all in IE browser.

I just discovered that I had the plugin Fancybox for WordPress installed and it conflicts with NGG Pro. If you have other lightbox plugins they may be overriding your NGG settings.

So I’ve finally had the time to take a better look at this and it seems that there is a conflict between the WordPress SEO plugin and Next Gen.

I deactivated all the plugins and the Lightbox worked perfectly. I then reactivated them all one at a time and the only one that caused this ‘double overlay’ was WordPress SEO. It causes the issue both when it is the only plugin activated and when it is also activated with the others I use.

Still doesn’t help me much though as both the SEO and NGG plugins are very important to me.
