• I have no idea what happened but I was writing my blog last night and everything was fine. Woke up this morning to do some more and now I cannot post an image to my blog page.
Like I normally do I added a new post, then did some writing and tried to insert an image. The image was uploaded from my PC HDD fine as it is in the Media library. However, when I select “insert into post” the page is blank. No error codes, no messages nothing just a blank page. If I click on back from the browser (Chrome) it will take me back to the media library and I can see the image there. Of course nothing is on the post page except the text. I did a preview to verify and its only shows the text.
The permissions on the wp-admin folder is 777 all the way through.

Anyone have any ideas what may be the problem.

  • Is the image being uploaded to your site? Have you checked using FTP?

Yes, I have my own servers sitting next to me. the images are uploaded via either through the post by clicking on upload/insert this takes me to the “Add media files from your computer” page which give me an option of uploading from computer, Url, gallery or Media Library. the image is in the gallery marked as gallery (1), I select this and then click on the “show” option and then I select “insert into post”

It’s definitely not a permissions issue as I’ve changed the permission from 755 to 777 and it’s still the same problem.

Have you checked that the images have been uploaded correctly by using FTP?

My images are not uploaded via ftp, they are all (840) unploaded via the upload/insert component when writing a post or through the Next Gallery if I’m putting them in the Gallery. I’ve checked to see that new images are uploaded and placed in the correct place.

As a matter of fact I’ve never used an FTP program to upload to my web server

You need to examine the uploads folder using FTP!
