• Hi there,

I’ve been using WordPress on my web space without any problems for the past few years, using several different themes that are on offer. A few years back I started using GK Portfolio and never had any problem. Then, out of the blue, I started to encounter loading issues in Firefox about two weeks ago. I tried a lot already, got in touch with my webhost, searched forums, changes images ect. I’m stuck. Any idea what this could be caused by?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hallo,

I guess you updated to wordpress 5.9 about 2 weeks ago? There is an optimization for the lazy load of images in this version. This probably leads to the problem that the images are only loaded when the mouse is touched. The theme you are using is also very old and therefore probably not compatible with it:

You could try to disable the lazy load of wordpress. You can do that with this plugin:

Thank you so much for this. I was wondering whether it had to do with this. I installed this plugin and activated it but saldy without any success.

I’ve been trying to find a new theme that is similarily minimal to replace this one with as I dn’t seem to be able to fix this. But it turns out, this is quite hard. The other problem I’ve got is that I’d like to keep this Grid strcutre but that pretty much all of the themes I tried make it pretty hard to achieve this even when they are advertized with this grid structure. Any advice there maybe?

    Thank you so much again!
