  • I’ve been having this exact same problem for a few months now. I’m using flash 10, wp 2.7.1 and both firefox and opera.

I have no idea what happened to the uploader. Anyone else?

    Same issue here.

I’ve migrated my blog from one server to another, and I noticed that the flash uploader is not working properly this morning.

When I tried to upload an image via flash uploader, it redirects me to the login page. Even after I put my id and password, it just doesn’t work.

I suspect it is somewhat related the migration I have done, because html basic uploader works fine.

Is there anyone who could help me on this?

    Thank you in advance.

I have the same problem; redirects to login in Firefox, works fine in IE

I’ve got the same issue too, having trouble tracking it down to either server settings or something to do with Flash 10… Regular browser uploader seems to work and all the permissions are right… Help!

When the image uploader is loading I can see two GET requests in firebug that seem to be the same (same param/value) except that the second one gets a 206 ‘partial content’ returned with no visible response… Is that the expected behaviour?

Both uploaders don’t work. Flash uploader forces login screen. Browser uploader shows a “try again” screen.

(Using Firefox 2.7 & Chrome with flash 10 and wp 2.8.2)

IE8 shows an HTTP error. Checked the CHMODS and changed the upload dir. Didn’t work. This seems te be a JS error.

Jquery has been updated in WP 2.8 to Jquery 1.3.2. This may be the problem… I’ll get back to you on that.

Migrated JQuery back to 1.3.1. Didn’t work.
Renamed the uploaded picture and tried others. Didn’t work.
    Re-uploaded WP 2.8.2. Didn’t work.
    Altered htaccess. Didn’t work
    Disabled all plugins. Didn’t work.
Disabled Gears, tried default theme. No effect.

POTENTIAL FIX: download this plugin and see if it works.

I got this error on the latest version, the potential fix link in the last post didn’t work. Fiddled with it for a while and managed to fix it. Here you go:

The cause of it is your php installation being done with --disable-ctype, and wordpress using a ctype function (just like the problem back in 2.5).

I had the same problem and found a solution for at least ‘my problem’.

It was obscure, since i had another blog on the same server that worked perfectly.

    Same plugins, same almost everything!

Turned out to be i had the Stylish Firefox add-on and it was enabled for my NEW site as i was configuring things.

As soon as i turned off Stylish, bam it worked like a charm.

Don’t know if you are using Stylish, but this at least helped me.
