WP-Optimize becomes very specialized. I like recent Minify skills, thank you!

I’m still searching for an reasonable solution for bloated image sizes uploaded to Media Library by newbie users who don’t know how to resize their images.

WP stores all these useless sizes: 2560 px (-scaled), 2048, 1536. Even an original huge one. Couldn’t we decide if we want to keep all that stuff? Couldn’t we set max width and max height, eg. 1200 px, without unnecessary server burden?

    Hi there,

Apart from the 2560 px (-scaled), large, medium, small and original, all the other sizes are defined by the active plugins and theme. So the choice of plugins and theme will influence that very much.

If you want to avoid the huge original files, I’d recommend Imsanity, as WP-Optimize doesn’t do that at the moment.

WP-Optimize Premium has a feature to delete certain image sizes, but it’s mostly useful when changing themes or plugins, and some image sizes are left unused.

    Marc.

Of course, Imsanity brings a relief.
