Image keywords

    It seems that most replies here say that keywords in the EXIF or IPTC data of an image are not read or used in WP so they are not seen by Google. I fill in the categories and tags but I don’t know if Google really sees those anymore.
    I’m using my images to support my travel articles and so all the text on page talks about the images as well…
    But the 20-30 keywords that I select for an image (it sounds like) are ignored by WP…

    Is there a rationale for this? Google very much reads IPTC keywords in images so I have to wonder if I’ve been doing all this work for years for no reason…
