• Greetings!

I auto upgraded to 2.8.3 last night; and proceeded to attempt uploading some images through the media uploader, but to some interesting results…

when i try to upload (with flash / browser style) an image it shows up immediately in the image listing by name, but with no thumbnail image attached to get a visual reference of it… all of my old images and their thumbnails are still there, but since the new install.. no image, only a text listing of the uploaded media.

on top of that, since then, I have attempted uploading the images to the same dir and reference them in my posts through the additional info section of my theme:

This has also resulted in the images not appearing in the front-end display of the site where they should normally be showing up, beside the post listing as a thumbnail.

I’ve had flawless experiences so far with the auto-upgrade option, as well as the media uploader! So I’m curious if anyone else is having this problem, or if anyone has any insight as to why this is occurring and how I can remedy the situation!

Thanks very much for your time.

p.s. How do I embed images in this forum to show pictures for troubleshooting reference? Such as the links above are intended to be images rather than text links to the images…

    Normally I use:

    ‘’

But that didnt actually display the image. Thanks for your help community!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

P.S. You can’t embed images on this forum. The only option is to provide a link to them on your site.

Yes…I updated to 2.8.3 and am using Atahualpa 3.4.2 and all of the content on all the pages is missing. Is this a plugin issues as well or a template issue? This is twice now this has happened when WordPress updated.

Since upgrading to 2.8.3, uploaded images show the left and right edges cropped. The original image is in the correct folder on the server, and is the correct size, but WordPress displays one of the other two cropped images. Size of the original image is approximately 37kb. Anyone have any tips?

    definitely a plugin issue.

I tried…. disabling all the plugins and its still happening!

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

    [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="250" caption="Trapped By Debt"]<img class=” ” style=”border: 2px solid black; margin: 8px;” title=”Trapped In Debt” src=”http://get-financial-help.org/images/trapped-in-debt.jpg” alt=”Trapped By Debt” width=”250″ height=”167″ />[/caption]

This worked problem free until I upgraded to 2.8.3

Now it only works if I remove the caption and border.

Otherwise the margins don’t work and the image and text are butted up to one another

@tommurphy8: I think it’s unlikely to be a plugin issue and is more likely related to the width (in pixels) of your original images and the max image setting in your theme. How wide are your images on average?

Also have a look in functions.php for something that resembles:

    $GLOBALS['content_width'] = 400;

@mountainstream: A plugin issue would be the most likely. Try deactivating them all and then re-activating them one by one – checking the site after each reactivation – until you find the culprit.

@eagerwatcher: Sounds like a CSS issue. Site url?

Did you ever get this resolved? I’m having the exact same issue. Auto updated, now every imported image is cropped left and right.
