Image Issue with Google+ (5 posts)

    When I post a link from my blog (workreadplay.com) on Google+ it automatically posts a headshot from the bottom of my blog rather than my featured image.

    You can test this using this URL: http://workreadplay.com/want-secure-wordpress-5-proven-methods/

    I've enabled "Add Google+ specific post meta data (excluding author metadata)"

    Is this a Yoast issue?

    Thanks for the help.

    Same issue here. Until last week Google+ just used the featured image, now it uses my face or the theme background. Curious about a solution.

    I think this has something to do with how WordPress SEO is implementing Open Graph image tags now. Every single image featured in a post now has an og:image tag in the <head> section.

    I just tried posting to Google+ and I can't select the Featured Image because there are too many og:image tags and G+ wont allow me to select from all of them.

    @sdaveCL thanks for the info. Do you know a solution for this?

    This post describes how to strip all but the featured image og:image tag of the post from the <head>:

    Takes a snippet of code added to your theme's functions.php to do it.

    The exact snippet I added was this:

    add_filter('wpseo_pre_analysis_post_content', 'mysite_opengraph_content');
    function mysite_opengraph_content($val) {
    return preg_replace("/<img[^>]+>/i", "", $val);
