[resolved] Image in newsfeed from like is a thumbnail (4 posts)

When I share an article with a URL into the newsfeed it shows the image at 560x292 like I want it to. However, if someone clicks Like within the same article and chooses to "post it to Facebook" it shows up as a thumbnail. Here's a link to the FB debugger

Here's the link to the website in question: http://smartergovernmentwa.org/

Before posting this I enabled the debug info and cleared the site cache.

    Thank you!

Your meta tags are correct, and so is your image. Facebook will use your image in whatever way it wants. If it's not large enough, they'll often resort to a thumbnail. Likes are also less prominent than Sends or Shares. Have a look at the "?" popup for image dimensions -- the suggested value is larger in consideration of Facebook's preferences.

BTW, you have an fb:app_id meta tag that is duplicated. You may want to turn it one in whatever other plugin is adding it, or uncheck the meta tag on the Open Graph+ Advanced settings page.

It just seems strange that posting the URL directly to the wall results in proper display, but hitting "post to facebook" from the like button results in a thumbnail. I'll mess with the image size. I'll post back if it turns out the image posts correctly via like button with the large image.

I don't make up the rules -- Facebook decides what to do on their site, we can only control the information on our own pages. ;-)

BTW, A Like is not the same as a Send (much lower value).
