Should image files served have the 304 unchanged response set? When I run other caching plugins I see the 304 set, but when running hypercache I get a 200 response. Google page speed shows something like “with-succulent-wood-box-1-600×399.jpg (expiration not specified)”

Hyper Cache works only on generated HTML by wordpress, the image headers for expirantion should be set by your webserver.

Thanks for the reply, Stefano. I guess I need to look into how to set the image headers. But out of curiosity, why is it that when I install other caching software do they set the expiration for images? Would it be possible for Hypercache to have an option to set the expiry?

Probably they change the .htaccess, I don’t know. Actually I cannot afford the energy to extend the plugin to implement those features, it require a lot of attention to the community needs and I have really not enough time. Sorry.

    Stefano.
