Support » Fixing WordPress » Image dimensions not showing on image attachment page after updating to 5.6

  • Hi everybody!
I’m having an issue just after updating to WordPress 5.6.
I’m using TwentyTwelve theme and after updating to WordPress 5.6, the image dimensions data is not showing on the “image.php” (the attachment page). It just show “x” instead of “1200×800”.
Note that you can check this bug (not sure if it’s a bug but the issue starts to happen after updating to 5.6) even with the last TwentyTwelve theme version.
Seems it’s not loading well the %4$s × %5$s part on the template (image.php).

(The dimensions on the link attached are being shown because I’m running an older version of WordPress, but I only need to update to 5.6 to make the issue appear)

Could you help me with this? Thank you very much! 🙂

  • Hello,

Can you please share a screenshot of the page you’re having trouble with. You can use tools such as Lightshot to take a screenshot of the page

    Yes, please look:

Where the arrow is pointing now I only see “x”. The dimensions of the image are not loading on the image attachment template. Started to happen after updating to 5.6.
    Thank you 🙂

That might want to seems like a conflict with one of your plugins.

Can you try and deactivate your plugin one by one to find out which plugin is causing the conflict?

I deactivated all plugins (in fact there are only 3: Classic editor, tag list and WP-PageNavi).
With all 3 deactivated, the problem persists…
    Any ideas? Thank you

You should deactivate all plugin start first with WP-PageNavi.

Am assuming the conflict seems to be either of the three plugins.

If the issue persists after deactivating all three plugins, feel free to reply here

    Thank you.
As I said before, even deactivating all plugins, one by one, the problem persists.
In fact, the situation is quite simple. The issue exists with:

    – A fresh 5.6 update
    – A fresh Twenty Twelve theme 3.3
    – 0 plugins activated

What I get in the image.php page is:
“Published January 12, 2021 at × in Test Post!”

The dimensions still don’t appear, even with a so simple situation. Surprisinly, the issue appears just after updating to 5.6, not before. Could this be a small incompatibility with Twenty Twelve theme and the last version of WordPress?

    Thank you very much! 🙂

Somebody has been able to reproduce the issue?
Just WordPress 5.6 and Twenty Twelve 3.3, without plugins…
    Thank you!
