Support » Fixing WordPress » image descriptions and alt text not fed into html source file

For search engine optimisation I have added image alt text, captions and descriptions in the WordPress Media Library.

None of this text has been taken over in the html source code of the pages/posts, however.
I do not think that all images should have to be re-uploaded or re-linked to the posts?

Does anybody know why the html info is not updated, when media info is updated?

    Thanks

  • Edits made in Media > Library, or in Posts > Edit > Upload/Insert (Add Media); do not automatically update the HTML already within the post. The image would need to be re-inserted into the post to update the HTML.

Edits made in Posts > Edit > select image in post > click Edit Image icon; do make changes in the HTML for that post but not in the image library.
