I used the Simple Image Sizes plugin to create a custom thumb dimension. Now I want to use Crop-Thumbnails to crop thumbs for this custom dimension.
I discovered two problems…
#1 I’m able to crop an image by clicking “Crop Thumbnails” above my WP post area. I know I cropped it because after I saved the crop, that cropped image shows up in the Crop Thumbnails windows. Now I want to insert the picture into my post so I click “Add Media” and add the picture… I select the specific thumbnail dimension I cropped. But the image displayed is DIFFERENT than the one I just cropped! The inserted image is the default one that shows when thumbs are regenerated- it isn’t cropped how I want it. The only workaround is I copy the URL of the cropped image in the Crop Thumb windows and manually insert it. Any ideas?
#2 I want to crop my featured image to show my custom dimension thumb. I click on Crop Featured Image button. I crop and save the image for a . It shows up properly cropped in the Crop Thumbs window but does not replace the large featured image. I don’t see any drop down menu anywhere for me to select my custom thumb as a featured image. Any suggestions how to get the cropped featured image I want used?
