Support » Fixing WordPress » Image caption should appear when pointing cursor over image thumbnail.

  • Hi,
    I have created an image gallery in my blog using the default gallery option of WP. In the gallery the image caption appears below the thumbnail of every image. I want that it should appear when I point my mouse over the image caption.

    Can anybody help me with this?

    this will need some adaptations to your theme’s styles;

    please post a link to your site, pointing to a post with a gallery.

    Thank you alchymyth,

    Currently i’ve inserted gallery into the page itself! and I guess if the adaptation is applied then it will be applicable for posts as well as pages!

    start with adding something like this to the end of style.css of your theme, or via a custom CSS plugin:

    .gallery .gallery-item .gallery-caption { visibility: hidden; }
    .gallery .gallery-item:hover .gallery-caption { visibility: visible; }

    Thank you alchymyth,
    That worked for me! For now it will do the job! Will come back here if needed to take it one step further.
