I have talked to the theme author, not the theme’s problem. * Any help would be much appreciated. You are doing it wrong. Adding caption to the image in the media library will not automatically insert caption into your existing image on the post or page. * Go the the page that has the image in it, and go to edit. Hover over the image, and click edit image. Once there, add the caption and press update. To add a caption, it seems you must do so straight after uploading the picture/image before saving/embedding. Once you’ve added the caption, it can be edited freely afterward. * Anyway, that worked for me. For two years the caption on the image works. All of a sudden I guess after I updated wordpress, I noticed the captions were outside the image! It looks bad. Anyone suggest a solution? So, it will require a theme update to solve the problem.
