• Hopefully I’m not asking a dumb question, I’m sorry if I am.

My blog is incorrectly aligning my images. The odd part is that the body text is aligned correctly and every post from before I actived WPfolio is correct. I’ve read every line of the php and css files. I don’t know very much about coding so it’s a struggle.

I’ve changed every line that said “align:” that I could find and did have some effect in different places (obviously my header and a lot of different things on the rest of my site, alison becca)

I thought maybe there was an error in the individual posts html so I checked. Here is the line for one of the pictures that I wanted to be centered in the blog post:
    <p style=”text-align: center;”><img class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-375″ title=”alison becca wedding je 2″ src=”http://www.alisonbecca.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/alison-becca-wedding-je-2.jpg&#8221; alt=”” width=”605″ height=”447″ /></p>

    Am I out of luck?

(Also, two quick questions. Why is my body text black when my font color selected is #EBC88B? I don’t see that font color choice taking effect anywhere. And, where is the line in the style.css file for making the menu center aligned? I changed it in my last version of WPfolio but can’t find it in the newest one. Yes, I know I should be using a child theme but those are way too confusing at the moment. I have read all the help pages. I’m trying to learn as quickly as possible!)

Thank you sooooo much for taking your time to help. Someday I’ll pay it forward once I get the hang of this a little better.

  • First, we have a new version you can try installing:
    http://github.com/slambert/wpfolio/archives/v1.6.4

That may solve your problem. I will keep an eye on this thread just in case.

Also, blog posts have two columns and the main column is narrower than “portfolio” posts, which have 1 column and are designed at 900px wide. So it may be centered, but your images are too large.

Colors… not sure. Update and then let’s talk.

Ah! It looks like updating and making my images smaller fixed it. I also deleted the widemargins lines just in case.

I went ahead and added widgets to the sidebar (which wasn’t working on my older version) and it looks much less strange.

The only issue remaining is why my body font color is still black instead of the color I selected under WPFOlio Settings > Font Color. I’m going to go over the style.css again, but if you have thoughts I appreciate the advice.

Thank you for not only creating this flexible theme, but maintaining such an active voice in the forums, and the thorough Owner’s Manual. I’m learning a ton.

when you update the theme, sometimes you have to save the theme options again. Try that…

widemargins only happens on pages, not posts.

That didn’t work for the colors, but thanks for the tip on widemargins.

we’re working on another release… thanks for testing it…

    Ok, new version fixes this:
    https://github.com/slambert/wpfolio

There’s a download button on the right toward the top.
