Last week I finally updated to WP 2.9.2, having been on a 2.5.?? version since I started my blog a couple of years ago. With this new version, I can’t get the post images to align correctly.

    My blog: http://otminteriors.com/wordpress/

I typically like to have images on the left, with the text to the right of and wrapping underneath the images. Before updating to 2.9.2, this type of alignment wasn’t a problem. Now, even though the images appear to align the way I want them to in the post “Edit” mode, when published, they’re all left-justified and either above or below the text (no “wrapping”). I’ve tried changing the alignment via the options in the image editor; all that seems to do is change the caption alignment under the photos.

Is this a problem with the image editor?

I’m not very tech-savvy (I have basic knowledge of html), so any solutions in layman’s terms would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Sheila

I can’t see any problems with image alignment or text wrapping on your home page…

your theme’s style.css seems to be missing the styles for .alignleft, .aligncenter, and .alignright

you can find corresponding styles in the style.css of the default theme that comes with the wordpress installation.

    Thanks, esmi and alchymyth.

esmi – the images in today’s post are supposed to be center-aligned, but, as you can see, they’re on the left. (I had actually wanted them to be left-aligned with text wrapping, but no matter what I did within the image editor, that wasn’t happening.)

alchymyth – do I have to activate the default theme to see its style.css? Where do I paste those styles in my current theme’s stylesheet? And why, if those align styles are missing, is the alignment okay on earlier posts on that page (see April 1 “Rustic Design” and earlier posts)? Wouldn’t the missing .alignleft, etc. affect the whole home page?

Thanks, again. I really appreciate your help!
