Support » Plugin: Regenerate Thumbnails » I’m not able to regenerate thumbnails

  • Resolved jeremymh

I have deleted all the images from the /wp-content/uploads/ directory. All the files have been sent to Amazon S3.

I wanted to regenerate thumbnails due to a new theme on my site but regenerating thumbnails keeps failing – new sizes are not created. Any options for a workaround to this?

Error: Skipped Attachment ID 15918: The fullsize image file cannot be found in your uploads directory at Without it, new thumbnail images can’t be generated.

It repeats this over and over and the list just keeps getting bigger. Is it a bug or is the plugin is meant to work this way or be compatible with Amazong S3? Do I need original files to be placed in the /wp-content/uploads/ directory in order to regenerate sizes? If so, is there any way to regenerate images except downloading original files from S3 into wp-content/uploads/?
