I am really new at this and am going to ask some silly questions. Please bare with me. Ok so I downloaded and unzipped. Instructions say to upload. What am i uploading to?

Most people run WordPress on a web hosting computer, they buy access from someone who runs a swarm of computers all connected to the internet, running 24/7 and with a staff to keep them running.
It is possible to run WordPress on your own computer, but this is only done by developer types, never people publishing a website to the world or even a small part of it.
