• Hi, firstly let me say I don’t very little about IT and WordPress. I have a site sallyoreilly.com. And there is an older site sallyoreilly.wordpress.com. The latter is still getting one or two hits, and I want to delete it. Also, when I comment on other blogs it seems to default to the latter. I guess this is gravatar but I can;t even figure out how to change that. A friend who moved my sallyoreilly.com from Drupal wonders if it’s a Jetpack issue. We are stumped. Can you help? Many thanks! Sally

With regards to the new followers on your old site, your old WordPress.com blog is still public. This means any historical posts you made on that site are still able to be found in the Reader topics pages – where readers can subscribe to your site without ever visiting your page.

To fix this, simply set your site to be private under “Site Visibility” here:
    https://sallyoreilly.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

Alternatively, you can delete the site. NOTE: Deleting a site permanently removes it and you (or anyone else) will never be able to re-use sallyoreilly.wordpress.com. If you truly want it deleted, follow the steps here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

Also, when I comment on other blogs it seems to default to the latter.

I looked into your account, and I don’t see that we’re using sallyoreilly.wordpress.com anywhere – in both your WordPress.com and Gravatar settings. Can you show me an example of a comment where it’s referencing your old site? Once I have that information, I’ll be happy to take a closer look.
