I’m getting alot of copies in upload?

    Hello there. Cuz my inodes are pretty high, I’ve checked why. I’ve notice that when I upload for example 1 poster, I’m getting a lot of copies in different resolution of it?

    For example here – public_html/otakubg/wp-content/uploads/2021/06

    Is that normal and do we need it so everything would work? Is there a way to stop it if not ?

    That’s normal. WP generates those derivative images based on the image sizes WP has as defaults and additional ones that your theme has declared.

    I have to many of those copies. So I need them or what ? If I delete them, what would happen ?

    @sterndata, normally my sites are about movies. When u add 1 poster, 4 screenshots, instead 5 image files, i’m getting 20 more. The originals + different resolution images. Imagine when I have more than 500 movies added, how many copies i’m getting…
