Support » Plugin: Connections Business Directory » Illegal String error

This has been working great and then out of the blue, all my contacts have 60+ lines of the same error over and over. It says,

“Warning: Illegal string offset’name’ in /home3/…wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/settings/class.options.php on line 991.

    How do I remedy this?

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the latest update! These are not actually error messages, they are PHP notifications for developers which should only be enabled on test and development sites. That said, every update of Connections is tested and best PHP practices employed to make sure not even notices are generated. Unfortunately due to the large variability in web hosts configs and WordPress installations it is still possible that a notice be generated that is not revealed in testing. I do apologize for this and the inconvenience this is causing you!

Here’s a link to a tutorial which explains how to have these developer notices suppressed on live production sites which is considered a best practice:

An update to address this was actually released before your post. I suspect WordPress had not shown it available to you, it should by now. Please update to version 9.0.1.

    I hope this helps!
