    Newbie.

    Today I installed WP 4.3.1 on Windows 10 and configured it for Multisite. The root site is just http://MySite.org and it works great.

    I use the dashboard to create a new site, “Test2” and it appears. But when I visit it, there is no CSS or images. Clicking /Test2/wp-admin says 404.

    On the hard drive there is no /Test2 folder. There is just the root /wp-admin, /wp-contect etc.

    Why does WP let me create a site, but not create the folder for it or the supporting tools for it?

    Dear Google,

    In IIS this is the Web.Config needed for IIS to support Multisite when wp-ads won’t appear.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration>
        <system.webServer>
            <rewrite>
                <rules>
                    <rule name="WordPress Rule 1" stopProcessing="true">
                        <match url="^index\.php$" ignoreCase="false" />
                        <action type="None" />
                    </rule>
                    <rule name="WordPress Rule 2" stopProcessing="true">
                        <match url="^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+)" ignoreCase="false" />
                        <action type="Rewrite" url="wp-includes/ms-files.php?file={R:2}" appendQueryString="false" />
                    </rule>
                    <rule name="WordPress Rule 3" stopProcessing="true">
                        <match url="^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$" ignoreCase="false" />
                        <action type="Redirect" url="{R:1}wp-admin/" redirectType="Permanent" />
                    </rule>
                    <rule name="WordPress Rule 4" stopProcessing="true">
                        <match url="^" ignoreCase="false" />

                </rules>
            </rewrite>
