It was a great free plugin, very useful to speed up the development process.
Too bad it will become a paid only solution included in a bigger bundle of products which I don’t need.

As an alternative you can use the excellent Custom Post Type UI by WebDevStudios:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/

Or if you know some php you could use Generate WP website:
    https://generatewp.com/

  • I made this for everyone to disable the paid update notice – until WordPress itself does something about it – and until people migrate to a better decent plugin. See https://pastebin.com/yhSPUmh9

This is a Screenshot of a Fresh Install of Toolset Types 2.3.1:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZIRFQDMXD3-ll9bOH3SBrjg_QuWfshXR/view?usp=sharing

Can you try to deactivate Types, reactivate it, then check for updates in Dashboard > Updates?

    This should be resolved.

The problem…. You have version 2.3.1 installed. Update to 3.0.1. View version 3.0.1 details. Compatibility with WordPress 4.9.6: Unknown

Most people don’t know or can’t restart PHP7.0-fpm on their server (or whatever version of php they have). I deactivated the plugin, restarted php-fpm and now have 2.3.2. (finally:)

I bought the premium and tried it out of the box on a test site and it’s too complicated to get working with a premium theme. Not worth the time messing with it until the roadmap clears up. The supported free version is welcome.

@dblinks, this is a review post, I suggest for BUG issues or similar to open a technical thread here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/types/

Anyway, I installed Toolset Types as downloadable from here (version 2.3.1) and installed / activated it on a local WordPress Install.

It immediately tells me there is an update available – for 2.3.2

I cannot see the problem you mention – but I might miss a step. Please reach out to me thru the support forum, I can try to help if needed (although it seems you resolved this already yourself)

    Thanks!

Sorry for posting in the wrong place. You didn’t read what I said carefully. I said I got it working by restarting php-fpm when the plugin is deactivated. (2nd paragraph).

    Thank you, no issue.

I indeed did Read the post, please read my answer again:
“(although it seems you resolved this already yourself)”

I always try to add all possible information so eventually others can profit too.

Surely it’s not what is expected, nor what happens on a clean install, unless I miss something, so I thought I elaborate on that 🙂

    Thanks
