Oh, I can’t confirm that. Ouibounce is “just” a core functionality and I actually built several things around it and invested lots of hours of work. wBounce makes Ouibounce usable with WordPress and for lots of people. It allows you to display the popup on specific pages only and brings several more useful things. Nobody forces you to use wBounce.
It’s the same for most other (open source) software. For example, Android bases on Linux. So why do people use Android instead of a basic Linux system?
Regarding your “give credit title”, by the way, the author of Ouibounce and a link to his repository is written in the first paragraph of this plugin’s description. I even had asked Carl Sednaoui if it’s okay that I use his code as part of a WordPress plugin before I started to develop it.
You are correct that you did ask permission. The reason I found this plugin to begin with was a post on the ouibounce website stating that he has given permission but has never looked at it so he/she knows nothing about it.
If they did look they should be furious, though.
I have seen your face annoyingly pop up several times while attempting to use this plugin, yet not once did I see Ouibounce mentioned. If there is anything at all mentioning you didnt do the majority of the wirk, its tucked into a corner somewhere.
Plastering your face all over someone else’s work without mentioning the original author is still stealing. By placing your face all over the thing instead of a thank you message to the ouibounce creator, you are trying to make people think you did the work, which you didn’t.
I can’t believe you replied to this instead of my post asking for assistance, BTW.
Overall, I understand your position and I’m going to change some things with the next update. So thank you.
