How can I restrict the query to certain categories while still forcing the sticky post to show first? (Yes, the sticky post belongs to one of the allowed categories).

Right now, with defaults, the sticky post is displayed first.
Selecting ‘ignore sticky posts’ forces it out of the first spot.

If the query uses the Taxonomy=Category, sticky posts are not displayed first.

(Looks like this applies when TAX Operator is set to IN – if it is set to NOT IN Sticky posts are on top)

Also, ‘TAX OPERATOR’ should be clearly marked as for TAXONOMY

  • I have exactly the same problem and resolved it changing the TAX Operator from IN to NOT IN and naturally changing then the categories.Thank you interestica!

But I noticed another strange behaviour: two lists were with exactly identic configuration, including TAX Operator IN. The first on my first page, the other on another page. The first didn’t show sticky posts correctly, the second did.

On mobile devices even the first showed the sticky posts correctly.

Must be some bug / database refreshing problem
