If I write a left menu, can it inherit all subclas

    Or do I just copy all the stuff for the right menu over to left menu, i.e. copy rightmenu ul and make a “leftmenu ul”, and same for rightmenu li, rightmenu li li, etc.
    There must be a way to make them the same class, right, just with one floating left and one floating right?

    The naming is only critical to keep things straight in your mind as you work on the design. You could use a generic “menu.ul” and apply it where ever you want.
