If I loose my server what happens to the information ?

Hi I am new to both webhosting and wordpress. However I managed to get it up and running with my host.

I changed a file permission to 666 through the chmod that I read in a book applies to all servers. 644 being the other option- I have a 500 internal server error thus those numbers where given me.

Any way its a long story with some sort of malware hyjacking my server and perhaps other file problems. So why am I here ? –

Well I cannot now get into my web hosting server at all as I have a fatal error since changing to the 666.

The question is though – What will happen to all the file information and wordpress database that I put on my server that will can now never be accessed again due to me setting up a new account with my host ?

Will the malware be able to ascertain important facts about me for example ? , Should I worry ?

I’m probably asking all the wrong questions and am completely confusing the issue. This is because I am a complete beginner and just read all the information out of a book this afternoon in an attempt to fix my server error.

I have only hosted with someone for a few weeks for the first time. Hence all the wrong questions potentially to you.

If you understand me enough to answer the basic question then that would be great –

Where does my website disappear to once its no longer accessible and should I worry about potentially private information it had ?
