• – creating a submenu in twenty eleven template was easy: dragging page title to the right (INDENT IT) in “appearance” and “menus”

    – worked like a dream for 4 wp site designs, then suddenly stopped: Could still snap the submenu title in an indented position, however, when saving menu the indentation would be lost, i.e. snapped back to top level menu items.

    – someone suggested to use another browser: Switched to FF and the issue was resolved.

NOTE: On the viewer level, once the submenus were created, that displayed fine in IE9. They even now showed “indented” in the admin level (appearance-menus).

CONCLUSION: Incompatability issue of IE9 with the script in WP that controls the creation of submenus? Perhaps, here is what might be broken in my WP 3.4.1 installation: Settings for page hyperlinks. One piece of evidence: The “page links to” area is no longer showing under “edit page”

Any comments to help me understand this better is appreciated. Especially specific instruction *what* area in coding requires repair, and can it be repaired? or is a re-install the only solution?

    Thanks,

    Peter

Just for comparison, I tested the Dashboard section of Appearance > Menus in IE9 and couldn’t experience this problem. I’m using Windows XP.

    Andrew:

Thanks for sharing that, my hunch now is that my WP installation is broken, even though I must admit I am experiencing the symptoms on two separate installations (but also I don’t have the issue on 3 installation out of 5). While I use win7, I don’t think it is platform dependant but intrinsic to a WP installation.
I am now re-installing to confirm this hunch.
