# IE8 Opacity Problem

 * Hi all,
 * Our new wordpress blog works great in Chrome, Firefox, IE9, Safari… but IE8 seems
   to have real trouble. I think it’s something to do with the opacity not showing
   correctly. Would anyone be able to assist??

 * If you are using CSS to control opacity, I think you’ll find that IE8 simply 
   doesn’t support it. The best way around this is to use [conditional comment CSS](http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Comment_CSS)
   to provide a slightly different design for IE8.
 * For future information, it is really beyond the scope of these forums to deal
   with general CSS issues like this. Try a dedicated CSS resource such as [http://www.css-discuss.org/](http://www.css-discuss.org/)
   instead.
