    Can anyone with the ability to load the somewhat rarely used version of IE7 (on XP), review this site and help discuss why centering the menu is problematic, both horizontally and vertically?

    It works as designed in all browsers but IE7 on XP.

    I can’t see what you mean in IE7 on Windows, which menu are you referring to? Can you post a screenshot of the problem?

    Centring in Internet Explorer versions below 8 doesn’t comply with margin: 0 auto; as with other browsers.

    You need to use a CSS hack to circumvent this.

    To the element you want centred;

    • Apply text-align: center; to the parent element.
    • Apply text-align: left; to the actual element and possible other siblings.

    #access div {
    	margin-left: 2%;
    	margin-right: 2%;
