    Hello,

I’m working in an enviroment with I.E. 7 and 8 navigators. When I.E. 8 is used in “I.E. 8 only” mode, the plugin works ok (only some rendering issues, like shadows and borders that are not showed) but wint I.E. 7 and I.E. 8 in “I.E. 7 compaitibility mode” the layout of the dialog seems to be broken: the “close” button is out of the “title bar” and when is clicked, the user is redirected to the end of the parent page instead of the expected behaviour. Neither shadows nor borders are either rendered properly in this case.

So I make this question: is this plugin compatible with this navigators?

    Thansk in advance.

    Hi,

The layout issues with the dialog can be fixed in future releases. However since IE 7 and 8 doesn’t support features like element shadows, I cannot guarantee a full compatibility. The editor in the admin panel probably will not work with IE 8 or earlier.

I’m pretty curious though about the reasons why do you need to use IE7 or 8. I realize that for example Windows XP doesn’t support newer versions of IE, but it does support other browsers where using IE7 or IE8 is quite big security risk.

Anyways the answer to the question is pretty much that theoretically the plugin might work with IE7 and IE8 in front end and the admin panel it won’t. I don’t aim for full compatibility but the layout issues you mentioned might be fixed in future releases.

Unfortunately I don’t really have the resources for full backward compatibility with old browsers. But thanks for your interest and thanks for pointing out those issues. The dialog layout problems seem to be reasonably easy to fix.
