"Identity not verified" message for login & dashboard
-
First of all, what a great plugin! Thank you for making it.
The goal for my website is to secure my login page
https://protocol-place.com/wp-login.php
After installation, I checked the box, “Always use HTTPS while in the admin panel. This setting is identical to…” and then saved changes.
Now, when I go to my login page (link above), I see a big red screen with the message “This connection is untrusted… we can’t confirm that your connection is secure. This site’s identity can’t be verified.” This type of message happens in both Google Chrome and Firefox.
When you check the details, it says “protocol-place.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.ipage.com, ipage.com (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain).”
As you may have guessed, my web hosting is with ipage.com
After ignoring the error, I am still able to login and the dashboard works normally. However, the reassuring “lock” image and https part of my URL is crossed out in red. It’s kind of annoying, though I assume my login information is safe as it’s still encrypted according to Google Chrome when I click on the crossed-out lock.
Is there any way I can fix this error?
Thank you!
