    From what I gather, it identifies duplicates by creating a hash from the file. This is one type of duplicates. That is of course good.

    Another type of duplicate is when you upload two different “versions” of the same image. The have the same file name (e.g. dd06-7423.jpg), the depict the same thing (since they derive from the same original file), but the size can be different. In this case, the file hash will be different and the duplication will not be identified.

    Nevertheless, it is a duplicate and it would be better to remove one of the versions.

    So I would suggest that you introduce, maybe as an option, the possibility to identify duplicated simply through two files having the same file name.
