I’m trying to create a Google Merchant Feed and all my products have a GTIN. I tell the plugin the GTIN, but for some reason it tells the feed that my identifier_exists is “no” for all my products, while also listing my GTIN.

How does the plugin conclude “yes”, as I can’t get it to.

And, before you ask, I have the “identifier_exists” dropdown set to “Yes” under the product, but the feed creation doesn’t care (or is using the wrong macro, which is currently set at “Plugin calculation”).

    Cheers!

  • Hi Ryan,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

The plugin checks if products have a brand and MPN or GTIN and automatically decides if the identifier exists needs to be yes or no. So having a GTIN alone is not enough. Only when your products also have a brand the identifier exists will be “yes” so make sure to also add a brand to your feed.

The full explanation can be found here:

    Hope this helps?

Yes, I’ve done this. I have both MPN and GTN. MPN I’m just giving as our SKU.

Since all products are my own Brand, I just put g:brand to static, and my brand name. But the Brand name still does not get included on the feed, though I’m telling it to add statically to all.

    Is this okay?

I see you selected “woosea brand”, but where does it then get the Brand data from? Is there an input somewhere that it looks for? And then you selected “woosea gtin”, I can’t find those inputs anywhere on my product pages. How would I add the GTIN so it shows up under “woosea gtin”?

The guide you referred to said I can create the taxonomies for myself, which I have done, but the plugin doesn’t seem to understand that, and declares all Identifier Exists as “no” while outputting GTIN on the products.

So I guess my question is, there is no chance the plugin works properly in deciding whether Identifier Exists unless I purchase the Elite version, correct?

    Cheers!

–> Those are field available in the paid version of our plugin, those are not available in the free version.

Anyhow, you mentioned you added your brand as a static value and used another attribute for adding GTIN’s to your feed. That should result in correct identifier exists values (you do not need the paid version of the plugin for that).

Can you share with us the plugin debug.log URL so we can see how you configured your feed? Instructions on how to retrieve the debug.log URL can be found here: https://adtribes.io/send-your-debug-log-to-support/

Assuming the issue at hand is sorted and/or our support is no longer required I will close this topic for housekeeping reasons now.
