I’m working with a non-profit and we’d like to use a tiled gallery to showcase our partners, using their company logos.

As you can see on Our Partners page (currently), the images are showing up strangely, and I suspect it’s because the images are all different sizes and resolutions.

Is there an ideal or best size (dimensions) and resolution for the images to be used in the tiled mosaic?

I can work toward getting the right quality logos from our partners and then sizing them accordingly.

I’d like to be able to use the ‘random’ feature as well, so that the partners are shuffled around and the same 2 or 3 aren’t always at the size. I’m hoping that having the right sized images that this will work properly.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

It depends on your theme, since tiled galleries will try to organize them in even columns. It looks like the full-column images are 661px wide.

Generally speaking, if the images are uniform in size, width particularly, the grid will look more uniform.

That said, the images shouldn’t be expanded beyond their original size, which suggests that perhaps the image size wasn’t correctly pulled by the server when it was uploaded. I would suggest getting something with a width of 1400px per image for your theme, if possible. That would enable it to be displayed in the full-width of the column and still look crisp on Retina (high-resolution) displays.

    Cheers!
