Support » Plugin: Gutenberg » Idea good but not yet usable

  • Does not support any lightbox – I tested 4 lightboxes and the pictures just do not open in the LB window.

On the mobile phone basically unusable.

The editor is all in white. – Unpleasant for sight.

Working with the text is much more complicated. – Finding often banal items on menus and submenus is unnecessary.

I like viewing the gallery and creating original pages. To some extent it competes with simple pagebuilders. I laik creates original pages.

It’s going to improve some details and maybe a little simplify control, but the idea is good.

Hiya, and thank you for the feedback!

As it stands, not all content will be the same, so some plugins, depending on how they interact with content, will need to be updated. This will come as Gutenberg gets closer to completion and plugins/themes start preparing for it in full, so I wouldn’t be too worried about this point.

You mention it being near unusable on a phone, what do you mean, and what is hard to use? We’re obviously very aware that many users access their site using phones and tablets, so we would love to hear where you got stuck on that.

Having a basic default that is much like writing on paper makes it easier for others to customize and build on an implementation. The idea here is that plugins or themes can (and probably will to some extent) modify the experience so that it is more in line with what your site looks like on the front end.

We’re not done yet though, there’s still much work going into the new editor, so again, thank you for the input, and I hope you can provide a followup on some of the points above so we can look at making the experience better for all!
