I read in the FAQ about the difference between guest voting and registered users voting.
    1. A guest inputs a name, email, and the IP is tied and saved.
    2. A non-guest registers (when guest registration is off – and currently through other plugins), basically inputting a name, email and password?

I understand that if guest voting is off, one can theoretically register as many times as possible and game the system so to speak, right?

I’m wondering about a combination of the two systems (not full proof against gaming, but more comfortable for registration than using another plugin/registration window), where it would be possible to add the password input to the already existing idea-push form, like with a checkbox that reads beside it something like: ‘save my details for future ideas’, and the password field would appear.

This could be like a 3rd option for the guest voting settings.
    What do you think?

    Hi @kaizerco,

I think this feature is too specific for your needs. You are welcome to customise the plugin or I can provide a customisation service for you. Thanks,

    Ok, I understand.

And related to this, if I have the guest system in place, and a user were to contact me saying he cannot use his email (because of the IP restriction when on another computer), is there a way I can manually free up his account so he can use it elsewhere?
Would supplying him with a new password be enough? Or would I need to reassign/delete his IP affiliation?

    Hi @kaizerco,

The later would be the case. Thanks,

The latter? Meaning, I would need to reassign/delete his IP affiliation?
    How/where can I do that?

    Hi @kaizerco,

If you just create a general user account for the user that would be sufficient and they won’t have any IP restrictions. And as you know I have enabled the ability to turn off the IP blocking from the board settings now. But technically speaking the IP address is stored in custom user meta and we don’t provide the ability to edit this in WordPress itself, it needs to be deleted in the database. Please see the table “wp_usermeta” and the meta_key “ip_address”. Thanks,

Great, thanks for the info – I’ll keep a note of this for when it’s needed.
