 * Hi,
 * Are you still looking to expand this plugin?
 * What I would like to see is something like Microsoft Teams for Buddypress whereby
   teams can talk about things in a group chat.
 * When the chat session starts it automatically creates an entry in the group activity
   stream and periodically updates it so that the stream has a copy of the chat
   session.
 * Also the chat session automatically closes down when no further activity is happening
   and the active stream entry would close off with the entire content of the chat
   session and a close time.
 * Nathan

 * Hi Nathan,
 * Sorry for the delayed response, I forgot to subscribe to the forum, just as well
   I checked.
 * It’s an interesting idea, Let me look into it, it’s possible I could add an option
   to enable this.

 * So if I understand the requirement properly, you want the first chat comment
   to create an activity, then subsequent chat info to be appended as comments to
   that activity, and if there is no chat for say 30 minutes any chat after that
   would create a new thread and log the rest of the chat as comments. Is that correct?

 * Hi, thanks for the reply.
 * I hadn’t thought about doing it as separate comments as this could get really
   unwieldy and difficult to following. What I was thinking was a single activity
   entry for a chat session which got updated with the chat content as new content
   was added. For example:
 * Chat session start at 10:30pm on 23 January 2019 by Nathan Wright.
 * Nathan Wright – 10:30pm
    sdjfhksdjhfdkj
 * Fred Smith – 10:31pm
    kjdfdskjfh
 * Tom Jones – 10:33pm
    sdjkfhdkjf
 * Nathan Wright – 10:45pm

 * Yes I get you, I’ll look into it tomorrow, see what’s possible.

 * Hi there,
 * I’ve introduced rudimentary threads to the plugin. Basically a new thread is
   deemed to have started if 15 minutes has passed since the last message, this
   will mark the message as part of the new thread, all messages posted following
   that initial message will be labelled as part of that thread until the chatroom
   has been quiet for 15 minutes. After this timeout the thread will be closed and
   if ‘Post threads to group activity’ has been set all the messages in that thread
   will be posted in a single activity update.
 * I don’t think this relying on a timeout is ideal, but it’s a step towards what
   you are looking for.

 * It would be useful if it was possible for an admin / mod to be able to close
   a chat session which would write the content to the activity stream and clear
   the chat content from the chat window.

 * Hi Nathan,
 * I’ve added that feature now, there should be an update in a little while.
