What I was thinking was a single activity entry for a chat session which got updated with the chat content as new content was added. Basically a new thread is deemed to have started if 15 minutes has passed since the last message, this will mark the message as part of the new thread, all messages posted following that initial message will be labelled as part of that thread until the chatroom has been quiet for 15 minutes.
