ics feed not possible

When I enter a .ics URL in the ICS Import settings it disappears as soon as I click “Update”.
The URL is a gmail link:
https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/xxxxxxx%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics
Same with a private calendar link.
Am I missing something?http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/calpress-event-calendar/
